About the Event
The founder and vision catalyst, Tonya L. Whiteside is a school counselor who is passionate about supporting young women. She's served for 24 years in Capistrano Unified School District, and is currently a school counselor at Aliso Niguel High School and a business/entrepreneurship teacher in Career Technical Education. Tonya is a wife and mother of two adult sons.
I Am More Than My Hair's teen event is to empower and motivate self-love, identity, and acceptance, overcome gender and racial bias surrounding our hair, while growing up beautifully black. Join us for an interactive experience with special speakers, lunch, t-shirt and special gifts.
